  • Total fights: 26
  • Wins: 24
  • Wins by KO: 22
  • Losses: 2

Anthony Joshua successfully defended his Haringey Boxing Cup title in 2009 and 2010. During his early twenties, he competed in and won 18 amateur matches.

That June, he defeated Cathal McMonagle and Eric Berechlin in straight sets at the European Amateur Boxing Championships. Mihai Nistor, a Romanian, severed his head.

His amateur boxing record was 40-3, and he was selected Amateur Boxer of the Year in 2011 by the Boxing Writers Club of Great Britain. He earned a gold medal at the London Olympics in 2012 despite being little unknown at the time.

The battle between the Klitschko brothers was Joshua’s most difficult test. Klitschko was the greatest boxer in history. In his professional career, he only lost three times.

He and Klitschko were expected to fight again, however on August 3, 2017, Klitschko announced his retirement from boxing. This put a stop to talks of a rematch between the two. Anthony Joshua fought again to retain his WBA championship, this bout against Kubrat Pulev.

Following that, he would fight against Joseph Parker for £18 million, the biggest money he had ever made in his career. The bout was set to take place on January 8, 2018, at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.

He eventually won the WBO belt, becoming the first fighter in his career to accomplish so. He was voted the best boxer in the world by the WBA, IBF, and IBO.

Recent news has focused on the battle between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Jr., in which Ruiz Jr. defeated Joshua and stole his belt. Ruiz was considered the underdog in the race, and nearly no one expected him to win.

Joshua Next fight

Despite the fact that his bout with Tyson Fury has yet to take place, Anthony Joshua appears to favor a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk as a method to get back on track.

When the bout took place in September at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Ukrainian came out on top. The final result was 117-113. The subsequent scores were 116-112 and 115-113.

Despite having recently lost his second fight of his career to Usyk, Joshua will attempt to reclaim his WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO championships. Joshua was defeated as a result of Usyk’s actions.

Usyk handed Joshua only the second professional loss of his career and Joshua will be hoping to regain his WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO titles once again.

The upcoming bout will take place on 20 August 2022, at Jeddah.
